Ryan's Graduation (2nd post of the day)

Friday night, June 1, 2012--7 pm

Ryan's graduation ceremony was great. We started off with A LOT of wind...his cap and tassel blew away in the middle of the ceremony and weren't found again...and it spit once or twice from some dark clouds, but then all calmed down right after they started handing out diplomas. With the clouds and the breeze, we didn't roast, either.

Glen and I were walking ahead of the students to clear the path and then help them get seated properly. Glen didn't have to "work" at graduation since he had a child graduating, but he said he wanted to as we get better seats as helpers. He asked if I could help, too, so that we could sit together. It was great. Hannah had the camera since I was doing other things.

The students all pick a partner to walk with. Michael and Ryan walked together. Here come the Seniors:

 The Ceremony: Among other things, we had a fly-by by 2 Navy helicopters at the end of the National Anthem. Our principal, Mr. Lords spoke. There were 2 Co-Valedictorians--Travis Marker and Hailey Plumb.

The Senior English teacher, Myke Nelson, was a great Guest Speaker. His speech was funny, reminiscent, and serious at parts.
