I'm in Oregon again

After our week camping with Glen's family, Glen and the boys headed home. Hannah and I drove to Oregon, picked my sister up from the airport in Medford, drove to Brookings, and we surprised our mom for her 80th birthday (just like we had surprised our dad when he turned 80). Mom's birthday isn't until August, but my sister couldn't come then, so we came early. My mom was definitely taken by surprise! It was great.

Denise was able to stay for just a few days. Things were pretty laid back. We played games, watched tv, and ate lots of yummy snacks (like peach salsa, avocados and tortilla chips and also triple chocolate ice cream cake for mom's birthday cake). At the airport when we dropped her off, we were laughing so much it was hard to take a good selfie.

Denise left but I'm staying on till the end of the month. Wow. I've never been here more than a week at a time before and now I get to stay for 3 weeks. At the beach. In the summer. With my parents and daughter. Loving it.

At the courts
Hannah and I went to tai chi with my mom (and I will be going with mom again), I've been going to zumba (this is kind of a retirement community and I am the youngest participant, which is kind of weird, but it is still fun), Hannah and I go and hit tennis balls (and considering I've only played once or twice in the past 30 years, I am doing ok), and we survived a heat wave last week without air conditioning. One day it was 95 in town and 101 in the carport (and 83 in the house). You can tell it was really hot because I kept putting a lot of ice in my water, and I usually prefer room temp water.

Summer is the best.

And today is our daughter-in-law's birthday. Happy Birthday Heather!!!

camping at Almanor

Spent this past week at Lake Almanor for the annual family reunion. The weather was ever changing--we had the range from sunshine to clouds, spitting, rain, and downpours.

Like every year, we played games, ate, had fun on the lake, visited and had a wonderful time. And Glen and the kids got to meet Henry for the first time!

Here are some photos I took with my Kindle. In a day or two I will post photos I took with my camera.

New fridge

Well there isn't much to talk about this week, but our new fridge did arrive...and just barely fit in the spot--after Glen had to take the edge of the cabinet off in order to allow it to fit.

I think we are going to love having the freezer on the bottom.

With the drought going on, this is, sad to say, the last irrigation of the season.

My view when I study in the mornings. I love it.
